The City of Cape Girardeau has crews out this morning looking for any damage that might have been caused by today's early morning 5.2 earthquake centered in Illinois, according to a city news release.
City officials say they're just taking "precautionary steps," and they acknowledge the earthquake was a minor tremor.
No damage is expected, the news release said, but the city wants to make sure there's no damage to important infrastructure like bridges and levees.
