Citizens Electric Cooperative said in a news release that power was restored to all its members before noon Wednesday after an outage earlier in the day left more than 1,000 members without power.

Citizens Electric Cooperative said in a news release that power was restored to all its members before noon Wednesday after an outage earlier in the day left more than 1,000 members without power.

At 10:30 a.m. Citizens Electric reported that the number of cooperative members without power was down to a little more than 200, according to a news release sent out by the cooperative.

The power outage was reported Wednesday morning as high winds started blowing into the region. The Oak Ridge school district canceled classes because of the outage.

Most of the outages were in the cooperative's Altenburg/Fruitland district.
