ABOVE: Ron Taylor, owner of Main Street Station, 130 N. Main St., hangs Christmas lights outside the store Monday in downtown Cape Girardeau. "I'm trying to make it look Christmassy," said Taylor, who opened the store, which offers drinks, snacks, groceries and an arcade, four months ago. The store also offers a walk up window where customers can order hamburgers, hot dogs and other street food. BELOW: Adam Worthy of Puxico, Mo., takes in the mural on the river wall Monday in downtown Cape Girardeau. Worthy, who was in town shopping, said he makes a point of viewing the mural whenever he is in town. A painter himself, Worthy says he finds inspiration in the historic buildings in Cape Girardeau and in the mural itself. "The historic downtown does it," Worthy said, "the painting is icing on the cake." BOTTOM: Taylor hangs Christmas lights outside Main Street Station.
