The "Christmas in Southeast Missouri" ornament, designed by Cape Girardeau artist Don Greenwood to benefit the Southeast Missouri Easter Seal Society, now is available.
Each year the ornament commemorates a different area landmark, and this year's ornament depicts a turn-of-the-century steamboat navigating the Mississippi River.
The gold-plated, solid brass ornament comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity. There are only 600 ornaments available in this year's limited edition.
The ornaments sell for $12 each if picked up at the Easter Seal Center, 316 S. Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau. They are available for $13 if shipped anywhere in the United States.
For more information, or to order an ornament, call the Easter Seals at 335-3377.
All proceeds raised from the "Christmas in Southeast Missouri" ornament sales will directly benefit Easter Seals' programs and services.
The mission of Easter Seals is to work with individuals, their families and the community to enhance the independence and quality of persons with disabilities. The Southeast Missouri Easter Seal Society features an Early Learning Center, an early intervention program which serves young children with disabilities from birth to 6 years of age; Loan-A-Seat, a child safety seat program designed to help prevent debilitating disabilities incurred from automobile accidents; and Friday Night Out, a respite care program for families with children with disabilities and their siblings.
