Mrs. C, 70, lives with her husband who has health problems just as she does. The couple lives on a small social security and VA check. Their mounting medical bills leave nothing left over for Christmas. Recent surgery for her husband left the couple in a position where they had to remortgage their house to pay for the operation. With limited income it's difficult to pay a mortgage and their caseworker said they often sacrifice food so their bills are paid on time.
The couple will forego Christmas gifts without help.
Mrs. C. has degenerative disc disease and diabetes. She takes lots of medicine. With her health problems, clothing that goes on easy and comes off easy would be best.
Size 14 to 16 dresses, large sweats, an extra large jacket with hood, pants in a size 16, large sweaters. 8 1/2 to 9 black or blue patent leather dress shoes or a size 8 tennis shoe would help Mrs. C. to have a few things she needs that just don't fit into the budget. Garment color or brand is no important.
This couple, trying to remain independent, could use your help. Gift cards for Town and Country and Wal-Mart will help them to purchase food instead of having to scrimp at efforts to pay bills and eat too.
