Although Southeast has traditionally hosted NCA camps for high school students, this is the first NCA Youth Cheer Camp to be held at the university.

NCR was founded in 1948 by L.R. "Herkie" Herkimer and instructs cheerleaders each summer at more than 600 camps across the nation. NCA is the largest cheerleading organization in the country with college, high school, junior high and youth programs. NCA training extends to several foreign countries as well, including Japan, ireland, England, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Canada.
