PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Three people were arrested following a police chase through Scott, Cape Girardeau and Perry counties Friday night.
Shortly after 10 p.m., the Miner Police Department began the chase on Interstate 55 after the suspects' vehicle attempted to ram a Miner police car during a traffic stop. The Sikeston Department of Public Safety told Miner police of a possible suspect match to a previous armed robbery.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit just south of Cape Girardeau. Police were able to deflate one of the vehicle's tires in Perry County. The car continued on to Perryville, where it stopped in the parking lot of a convenience store.
Two men and one woman were arrested.
The driver, Quincy L. Russell, 31, of St. Louis, Mo., was wounded in the forearm from the accidental firing of a trooper's gun while police were taking Russell out of the vehicle. His injuries were discovered soon after the arrest, and he was taken to a hospital.
Police said a loaded semiautomatic pistol was found in the car and that Russell had a felony probation and parole warrant for his arrest at the time of the incident.
Charges against Russell are pending; charges for the other two occupants are still being considered.
