Charleston will host the 1992 Southeast Missouri Band Association Marching Band contest on Saturday, Oct. 17. The parade competition will begin at 9 a.m. with 27 bands competing in downtown Charleston.
The field competition will start at 1 p.m. at the John Harris Marshall Athletic complex. Admission to the field show is $1.50.
Participating bands include: Dexter, Richland, Clay County in Rector, Ark., Clarkton, Gideon, Holcomb, Senath-Hornersville, Carbondale, Ill., Bernie, Caruthersville, Puxico, Bell City, Bloomfield, Fulton Co., Ky., St. Vincent, Oran, Charleston, East Prairie, Portageville, Perryville, Twin Rivers, Advance, Greenville, and Malden.
