Charges filed in Kansas City hit-and-run death

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Prosecutors on Wednesday charged a Kansas City man in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 7-year-old boy.

Enrique Sanchez, 20, was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and driving without a license, the Jackson County Prosecutor's office said. Sanchez was not in custody Wednesday and authorities were searching for him.

Police said the boy ran into the street Sunday afternoon and was struck by a van that had just rounded a corner.
