O'FALLON, Mo. -- A man injured during a confrontation with a Missouri state trooper now is facing felony charges.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported 41-year-old Jeremy Eli McGhee of West Alton was charged Tuesday with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. He is jailed on $20,000 bond.
The incident Monday began when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper saw a speeding vehicle pass several cars on the shoulder of Interstate 70.
A chase began, with the suspect -- driving a Toyota Highlander stolen in Illinois -- eventually pulling into an O'Fallon driveway.
The patrol said McGhee pulled out a realistic-looking BB gun. The officer fired several shots at McGhee that missed. Still, he suffered a leg injury that required hospitalization, perhaps from the bite of a police dog.
