CHAFFEE -- Chad E. Uhrhan of Chaffee has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1991-92 academic year.
The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank in the upper 15 percent of their high school class and score 23 on the ACT, or who rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the ACT, or who graduate as their class valedictorian or salutatorian.
The scholarship is worth $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for four years if a 3.5 grade point average is maintained.
Uhrhan is the son of Mark and Peggy Uhrhan of Chaffee and is a 1991 graduate of Chaffee High School. Uhrhan was senior class president, president of the Beta Club, and was active in Student Council, French Club, Varsity Club, Pep Club and Boys' State. He also was a four-year honor student.
He plans to major in civil engineering at Southeast.
