The Chaffee School Board recently passed a resolution opposing Amendment 3, a proposed amendment to the Missouri Constitution, that would, among other things, tie student performance to teacher evaluations. Opponents also contend it would take away local control of school districts. Board president Jamie Nix said the board is fundamentally opposed to that. "We believe that this amendment will have many unintended consequences for our school district. We know our schools and our students best, and it's important that our local community maintain control of the schools in our district," Nix said in a news release.
