CHAFFEE -- The annual Chaffee Christmas parade will be held at noon Saturday.

The parade's theme this year is "Christmas Carols." Entries will include half dozen floats, decorated vans, fire trucks and ambulances, Boy and Cub scouts, the Cape Girardeau and Sikeston Shriners, and local politicians, as well as high school bands from Chaffee, Delta and Kelly.

The parade will begin at the parking lot across from the Thorngate warehouse on North Main and wind through Chaffee on Main Street and Yoakum and end at Chaffee High School. The top three floats will receive cash prizes, sponsored by the Chaffee Chamber of Commerce and the Chaffee Lions Club.

Also scheduled Saturday, before the parade, is a Little Mister and Miss Santa Claus contest. The contest, sponsored by the Chaffee Future Homemakers of America, will be held at the Elks Lodge on East Yoakum.

The Helping Hands program will distribute Christmas gifts for Chaffee's underprivileged children at the Chaffee Elementary multipurpose room at 9:30 a.m. The Chaffee Jaycees sponsor the program.
