Chaffee man injured in traffic accident, fire

Louis P. Smith, 47, of Chaffee, Mo., suffered moderate injuries when his 2007 SUNL scooter was struck from the rear by the 2000 Chevrolet driven by Audumn D. Smith, 22, of Advance, Mo. The accident occurred one mile south of Dutchtown on Highway 25 at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Following impact both vehicles caught fire and were completely burned, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Louis Smith was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by ambulance. Audumn Smith was not injured in the accident.
