The Perry County, Missouri, Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a Chaffee, Missouri, man with second-degree burglary, resisting arrest and misdemeanor theft Thursday after he led Perry County and Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase into Cape Girardeau County on Tuesday, deputies said.
Perry County deputies arrested William B. Mosley, 47, on Tuesday. His bond was set at $15,000 cash only.
Deputies received a call saying Mosley was burglarizing a house on County Road 438, according to a news release from Perry County Sheriff Gary Schaaf.
The callers tried to keep Mosley at the house, but he fled in a vehicle, the release stated. The callers provided a description of the vehicle, including its license-plate number.
Deputies encountered Mosley driving on Route A, and a pursuit led into Cape Girardeau County, where Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputies and highway-patrol troopers joined the chase, the release stated.
Mosley eventually lost control of his vehicle, slid off the roadway and stopped, the release stated.
He was charged after a similar incident in Stoddard County, Missouri, last week, according to the release.
