Central High School inducted 34 students into the National Honor Society Tuesday night.
Students receive invitations to membership in National Honor Society who are juniors or seniors and uphold standards of scholarship, leadership, service and character as determined by the faculty council.
A student must maintain a cumulative B-plus grade average and be active in three approved school organizations or activities.
The National Honor Society's main service project this year was collecting school supplies for needy children in Cape Girardeau. Other service activities included serving as guides for Back-To-School Night and Parent Teacher Conference Day, ushers for baccalaureate and graduation, and working at swim meets.
