Central High School is hosting events in February for its annual citywide read celebration.

United We Read began in 2002 and promotes literacy in the school district and community.

Book talks are held by the school's students and staff during the celebration, and a selected book is honored.

"Crossing the Tracks," written by Barbara Stuber, is this year's selection.

The author will visit the school Feb. 7 and 8 for a book discussion, reading, book signing and session with students.

The reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the high school library. It is open to the public.

On Feb. 8, Stuber will spend from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with students at the high school.
