An auction will be held Oct. 8 to benefit the building fund for the Cape Girardeau Senior Center. Donated items to be auctioned are needed.
The auction will begin at 9 a.m. at the center, 921 N. Clark, on the parking lot.
Among items already donated are a Honda trail bike, an afghan, wood shutters, an exercise bike, and gift certificates.
All proceeds will go toward the center's building fund. The center is working to pay off a bank loan, used to construct its new facility.
Volunteers John and Jean Seay said fund-raising activities are being planned all the time to help retire the debt.
"When you have a debt like this," Jean Seay said, "everyone has to do their part."
For information on the auction and how to donate items, call the center at 335-1352.
