The case against a Cape Girardeau man who is charged with attempt to manufacture a controlled substance and second-degree burglary in connection with an incident at a fast-food restaurant will now be heard before a Butler County judge. Circuit Court Judge William Syler approved the change of venue for Dennie L. Bratcher, 27, at a brief hearing Tuesday, as filed by Bratcher's attorney, Ted Liszewski. Liszewski said he has also filed a request for additional discovery. Assistant prosecuting attorney Jack Koester agreed to both of Liszewski's motions. Bratcher, a former Sonic shift manager, was arrested Dec. 10 for allegedly cooking a batch of methamphetamine in the restaurant. Bratcher has one prior conviction in 2000 for burglary in New Madrid County.
