Antonio G. Reeves of Caruthersville, Mo., pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to one count of distributing cocaine base, or crack. Reeves appeared before U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber in Cape Girardeau. He faces up to 40 years in prison, a $2 million fine and four years of supervised release following incarceration. Sentencing was set for April 26. With his plea, Reeves admitted that on Dec. 10, 2002, he met with an undercover officer and a confidential informant in order to sell cocaine. The three individuals drove to Hayti, Mo., where Reeves obtained the drugs. He gave the officer 6.05 grams of cocaine base in exchange for $250.
