CARRIE L. DECK

LUTESVILLE -- Carrie Lou Hancock Deck, 79, of Mine La Motte, died Sunday, May 19, 1991, at Stockhof Nursing Home in Fredericktown.

She was born Nov. 14, 1911, at Bessville, daughter of Henry Harrison and Daisy May Skaggs Hood. She married Joseph Hancock June 26, 1932, who died Nov. 6, 1974. She later married Thomas Deck in 1983, who died June 13, 1990.

Deck was a member of Cowan General Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Henry Hancock of Gorham, Ill., John and Robert Hancock of Clubb, Bill and Billy Joe Hancock of Hiram; six daughters, Nelda Matkin, Glenda Hancock and Marla Myers of Fredericktown, Wretha Huggins of Advance, Lavern Summers of Zalma, Dorene Allen of Bridgeton; three brothers, Robert and Glen Hood of Zalma, Clyde Hood of St. Louis; a sister, Alice Cook of Fredericktown; 24 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Norman, and two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liley Funeral Chapel here. The Revs. Lloyd Green and Charley Hovis will officiate, with burial in Cowan Cemetery near Hiram.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:30 p.m. today.
