Capt. Paul W. Garland, right, of Cape Girardeau, received the guidon of Headquarters Company 135 Combat Engineer Group of the Missouri National Guard from Lt. Col. Michael Gunther, group executive officer, at the National Guard Armory. Garland replaced Capt. David C. Swink of Farmington, Missouri, as the company commander.
