A large crowd waited to board the bus at the Plaza Galleria for the first Holiday of Lights bus tour. The tour passed many of the winners of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Holiday of Lights Contest. More than 200 homes were entered in the light-decorating contest. Santa Claus greeted Andrew West, who sat atop his father, Alan West of Perryville, Missouri, after the jolly old man stepped from a limousine in front of West Park Mall.
