The first of two Marble Hill signs was installed on the west side of the city. The huge sign, constructed of steel and more than 30 feet long, was designed by Marble Hill sculptor and artist Tom Runnels. From left were Marble Hill Mayor Shirley Cooper, Runnels and sign committee members Sheila Teeters, Charles Hutson and Don Lax.
