Art Dellamano of Old Appleton stood by Old Appleton's Pratt truss bridge that was undergoing restoration. About eight years earlier, heavy rains swelled Apple Creek, washing the bridge off its foundation and most of its parts down the creek. Arriving in a hearse, the "Grim Reaper" toured Southeast Missouri State University to promote Alcohol Awareness Week. The silent, dark figure and two "victims" of an alcohol-related car accident toured the campus, distributing T-shirts and buttons to students.
