"Never Say Goodbye" was the theme for Central High School's 1987 senior prom held at the Arena Building. Leslie Jenkins was chosen Prom Queen. She was escorted by Cory Crosnoe. Central Junior High pupils proved to be an industrious and sympathetic group in collecting this huge bulk of material for the village of My Thi in South Vietnam. Yeoman Norman E. Golden of Cape Girardeau wrote to The Missourian requesting that Girardeans donate supplies. From the foreground to the rear were Pam Wissman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Wissman; Kevin Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Baker; Barney Parks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parks; Eloise Phillips, daughter of Mrs. Marjorie Phillips, and Yvonne Cardwell, daughter of Mrs. Louise Cardwell.
