The tree has ornaments with the names of children at the Cottonwood Treatment Center along with the children's Christmas wish lists. The old post office in Cape Girardeau was situated at the southeast corner of Broadway and Fountain streets. This photograph was taken in early July, 1958 when a new 60-foot flag pole was erected in front of the building. The new pole replaced a pole on top of the building.
