The Capetown Safari Fest will take place this weekend at the 5-H Ranch.
On Saturday, June 4, there will be a Little Mr. and Miss Safari Contest beginning at 1 p.m. There is no entry fee. Prizes will be awarded.
Entrants, ages 3-6, must dress in safari attire. Registration for the contest will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Entrants will be judged on costume, poise and appearance.
At 3 p.m. there will be an animal sounds contest. Prizes will be awarded and there is no entry fee. Contestants, ages 6-under and 7-12, will be judged on most unusual, loudest and funniest sounds.
There will be a Safari Caravan which leaves every hour Saturday and Sunday. There will be drawings for free season passes.
On Sunday there will be a coloring contest from noon to 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for contestants ages 2-4, 5-7 and 8-10.
There will also be a pickin' and Grinnin' Country Music Jam Session from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
