Cape woman killed in accident Tuesday

A Cape Girardeau woman was fatally injured in a two-car accident Tuesday.

The crash happened at 12:25 p.m. near the intersection of Independence Street and Pind Wood Lane in Cape Girardeau.

Patricia Bollinger, 83, was driving west on Independence Street, crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on, said Cpl. Darin Hickey of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Bollinger "suffered a medical condition prior to the crash," which led to the accident, Hickey said.

The passengers in the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Hickey said.
