A Cape Girardeau woman faces five drug-related felony charges following a series of controlled buys initiated by the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force and the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Misty R. Edmonds, 30, of 1410 Good Hope St., was charged Wednesday with five counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

Edmonds allegedly sold two grams of crack cocaine to an undercover officer on May 5 at a Kingshgihway convenience store for $200, accoridng to a probable casue statement written and signed by Daniel Seger of the Cape Girardeau police. The substance was tested and came back postiive for cocaine. Four days later, the same officer purchased $325 worth of crack cocaine from Edmonds at her Good hope St. residence, according to the sworn statement.

Another buy allegedly took place on May 19 and again on June 10 for a slightly larger amount of drugs.

When arrested and interviewed by police on Wednesday, edmonds admitted to having distributed about three ounces of crack cocaine in the Cape girardeau area over the course of the past two months, the statement said.

She allegedly said she sold it to numerous people in small quantities.

Edmonds could face a maximum of up to 75 years incarceration if convicted.
