Demolition of the former Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau, 100 Broadway, is scheduled to begin Monday, according to a news release from the city of Cape Girardeau.

The news release said the demolition should be completed before June 25, the day of the Great Race. The area will not be paved at that time, but will be a gravel parking area.

The west entrance to the area on Broadway will remain open, but the east entrance and south entrance, on Main Street, will be blocked.
