Amber Pool, 13, has returned from Lexington, Ky. with two first place awards at a major horse show.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Pool of Cape Girardeau.

The teenager won the UPHA class, which qualifies her for a national competition in Kansas City in November. She also won first place in the 12-year-old equitation class.

She rides under the direction of Raymond and Lillian Shively of Rockport, Ind.

Pool will be trying for a world title in two weeks at the Kentucky State Fair horse show in Louisville, Ky.

She shows her 3-gaited equitation horse "Symbols Wing Shot." Lexington was their first show together.
