Cape Girardeau High School student Kelly Russell has advanced in four national model searches.
Russell, 15, has been named a super semi-finalist, one of 96, in the Teen Magazine 1992 Great Model Search. Her picture will appear in the June 1992 issue of the magazine.
Russell was featured in the January Teen magazine as a regional semi-finalist.
She hopes to be chosen one of 12 national finalists. The 12 national finalists will receive expense-paid trips to Los Angeles. All 12 finalists will be featured in Teen Magazine. The winner will be featured on the cover.
Russell has been chosen as one of 430 national semi-finalists in the Seventeen and JCPenney cover model contest. National finalists will be named this month.
Russell has also been named one of 12 candidates to be considered for a semi-finalist in the July Salon Selectives Super Hair Search. There will be six semi-finalists whose pictures will be featured in the July issue of Teen.
She was selected one of 16 candidates being considered for a semi-finalist spot in the August Almay Fresh Face Contest. Eight semi-finalists will be featured in the August issue of Teen.
Russell is a member of the local JCPenney Teen Modeling Advisory Board. She is a state-level qualifier in tennis and has performed in several drama productions at Cape Girardeau Central High School, in addition to other school activities.
She is the daughter of Keith and Margaret Russell of Cape Girardeau.
