CAPE STUDENTS WIN ZONE LEVEL ORATORICAL CONTEST

Holly Brantley and Brandon Baker of Cape Girardeau have won at the zone level of the Optimist International Oratorical Contest sponsored by Zone 14 of the East Missouri District.

Each will now advance to the regional level, from which winners will compete in the district contest for $1,500 scholarships.

Both winners delivered orations on the subject "I Can Make a Difference."

Second-place and runner-up winners were Susan Chung, Emily Schloss and Margaret Bohannon in the girl's division and Matthew Wilson and Nicholas Ryan in the boy's division.
