Robert Felker of Cape Girardeau, will attend the Concordia College Spanish Language Village near Bemidji, Minn., July 19-Aug 15.
Sponsored by Concordia College of Morehead, Minn., the Concordia Language Villages is an informal experience-based program introducing young people ages 7-18 to the world of languages and cultures.
The villages simulate a visit to countries where these languages are spoken. Participants are issued passports, exchange their American currency and adopt ethnic names.
In one-, two- or four-week sessions they learn the language and experience the culture through conversation groups; celebrations of holidays and historical events; songs, dances, crafts and games; and through ethnic foods and mealtime conversation.
Felker is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Russ Felker of Cape Girardeau.
