CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Candyce Nicole Dobbins, a fifth grader at Cape Christian School, competed at the state level National Geography Bee earlier this month.

Dobbins won the first Geography Bee held at Cape Christian School which qualified her to advance to the state competition.

Dobbins competed against 107 other students in grades four through eight in Columbia.

Winners at the state level advanced to the national competition in Washington D.C. The national winner will earn a $25,000 scholarship.
