Nora Renka has won the L.J. Schultz Geography Bee, the first round of the National Geography Bee.
The school-level bee was the first round in the fifth annual National Geography Bee, sponsored by National Geographic World, the society's magazine for children, and Amtrak.
School winners will take a written test and up to 100 of the top scorers in the state will compete in the state bee April 2.
She is the daughter of Russell and Paula Renka of Cape Girardeau.
