Since 1971, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has sponsored the annual series of regional forums to discuss educational issues.

The theme of this year's meetings is "Raising the Stakes for Missouri Students." Education commissioner Dr. Robert Bartman will lead the discussions on academic standards and potential incentives to encourage students to work harder in school.
