The Cape Girardeau Public Schools are currently conducting kindergarten preregistration for the 1994-95 school year. Parents may preregister children for kindergarten at the elementary school in their attendance area anytime between now and June 10.

Children must be 5 years of age before July 1, 1994 to enroll in kindergarten for the next school year. A copy of the child's official birth certificate and an immunization record is needed at the time of enrollment. It is not necessary to bring the child for enrollment. School offices are generally open between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each school day.

Preregistration is important so the school district can plan for appropriate space and class-size. Parents are encouraged to make every effort to enroll their children for the next school year.

Regular "spring roundup" days will also be scheduled in late April at most schools. Parents need not attend "roundup" if they have already registered their children.
