Cape school district hires personnel

The Cape Girardeau School Board made several hires this week after a closed session at its meeting Monday night.

April Garner was hired as a principal intern and Billie Kiester was hired as a part-time special education teacher's assistant, both at Jefferson Elementary; and Mike Church as assistant men's basketball coach at Central High School. A principal intern is similar to an assistant principal, but at the same salary as a teacher, according to information from the district. Delores D. Enderle was hired as a cook at Jefferson, as well, the information said.

The district may take 72 hours to release information about new hires.
