Cape police investigating Friday morning rape

Cape Girardeau police are investigating a reported rape and burglary.

Police spokesman Darin Hickey said police received a call around 2:30 a.m. Friday from a 43-year-old Cape Girardeau woman who reported that a man entered her home, assaulted and raped her.

Hickey said the department would not release physical details on a suspect because the incident is under investigation. No one was in custody Friday afternoon.
