A Cape Girardeau man who led police officers on a car chase through the city April 13 was sentenced to prison Monday on two felony charges related to the incident.

Circuit Court Judge William L. Syler sentenced Jimmy A. Maglone, 30, to 10 years for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and four years for resisting arrest on a lawful traffic stop. Maglone pleaded guilty to the charges Monday and waived a presentence investigation.

The judge ordered the sentences to run concurrently, said Morley Swingle, Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney.

Maglone was charged after fleeing officers at Capaha Park and driving a truck in reverse on Perry Avenue, where he damaged a street sign. Maglone also caused damaged to Ken's Cape Cleaners on Broadway and to numerous parked vehicles.

Two additional charges -- first-degree burglary and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident -- were dismissed in exchange for Maglone's plea on the other charges.
