Brandon King, 28, of Cape Girardeau pleaded guilty to misdemeanor resisting arrest and was sentenced Monday to six months in Cape Girardeau County Jail.
King was charged with resisting arrest after running from officers April 2 when they tried to pick him up on a Cape Girardeau warrant for domestic assault.
He posted a $7,500 bond April 3. He is accused of shooting several bullets at Brittany Smith, 24, the next day. Smith was in her car at the time.
King was arrested April 6 on weapons charges and held in Cape Girardeau County Jail until Sept. 14, when a $35,000 security bond was posted.
On Sept. 17, Marsha Gail Price-Terry said King, with a handgun on his lap, told her he would give Smith $3,500 not to testify against him. King was arrested again Sept. 18 and charged with tampering with a witness.
King's plea deal allows for time served to count against the new sentence. King waived arraignment on the gun and witness-tampering cases, entering a plea of not guilty.
Assistant public defender Amanda Altman asked for a bond reduction from $50,000 cash only, but Judge Benjamin Lewis said that would be revisited when both cases return to court Nov. 9.
