A Cape Girardeau man was indicted in federal court last week on allegations that he was in possession of child pornography.
Abby Crites-Leoni of the U.S. attorney's office said Thomas Nolan, 52, is charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of transportation of child pornography. The charges, which allege Nolan was sharing the pornographic images with others via a file-sharing program on his computer, followed a search warrant served to Nolan at his home at 41 N. Henderson Ave.
Nolan is a prior offender in Cape Girardeau County, where in 1999 he was found guilty of statutory sodomy and child molestation. Nolan was sentenced to serve nine years.
Nolan will appear in federal court Monday for his arraignment.
