A Cape Girardeau man is facing weapons charges after allegedly firing a gun during an altercation.
Elijah J. Lintz, 19, faces one count each of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action after an incident Tuesday at Benton Street and Jefferson Avenue in Cape Girardeau.
About 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a large fight, according to a probable-cause statement filed in the case.
When they arrived, officers were advised a man had fired several shots from a handgun, then ran from the area. No one was struck by the gunshots, Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said in an email.
As a result of an investigation, Lintz was arrested Thursday and charged, Glueck wrote.
Judge Gary Kamp has set a $75,000 bond for Lintz with the condition he may not possess any firearms, knives or other weapons, court documents show.
