A Cape Girardeau man has been arrested and charged with felony robbery after police say he stole a woman’s purse Monday.

Police went to the 200 block of South Mount Auburn Road after receiving reports of a disturbance, where the victim told police Edavion D. Wade, 19, had robbed her.

“Apparently, the victim was giving Mr. Wade a ride in her vehicle,” Cape Girardeau police Sgt. Adam Glueck said, “at which point Wade forcefully grabbed her purse and exited the vehicle.”

Glueck said officers found Wade and arrested him shortly thereafter. The victim’s purse and property were recovered.

Wade faces a charge of second-degree robbery, a class C felony. His bond has been set at $25,000.
