The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will perform at 8 p.m. today at the Capaha Park band shell under the direction of Ronald Nall. Special guest conductor will be Steve Schaffner, fiddler and director of the Central High School's orchestra. The concert theme is "European Classics," featuring "The Florentiner March," "Light Cavalry Overture," the Irish folk tune "Danny Boy," the "Russian Sailor Dance," "Einzugs March," "Sea Songs" and selections from the musical "Oliver."

The Jackson Municipal Band will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jackson City Park band shell. Special guest entertainment will be provided by singer/songwriter Doug Rees. The band will perform "River of Life," a medley of country hits, "Little Bit of Country and a Little Bit of Rock 'n' Roll," "Comrades of the Legion" and other marches and songs.
