Cape, Jackson alter trash pickup schedules for Independence Day

Jackson's Sanitation Department will not be operating July 4 due to the holiday. Garbage that would normally be collected on this day will be picked up July 5. In addition, the recycling center will be closed July 4. For more information, call the Sanitation Department at 243-2333 or the Public Works Department at 243-2300.

Cape Girardeau's Solid Waste Division, including the transfer station and recycling center, will also be closed in observance the Fourth of July. Solid waste and recycling routes will remain the same, but there will be no special pickups. For more information, call the Public Works Department at 339-6351.
