Saint Francis Medical Center will host a Mobile Learning Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the Health and Wellness Center parking lot, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road.

Southeast Missouri Hospital also will host the learning center Thursday at it's HealthPoint Plaza. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The learning center is an educational display that provides information about treating and preventing orthopaedic injuries. The unit is self-contained in a temperature-controlled environment and is equipped with state-of-the-art learning stations. There is no cost for visiting the learning center.

Special presentations are planned throughout the day Thursday. They include: "Understanding arthritis," at 9 a.m., "Total knee replacement" at 10 a.m. and "Total hip replacement at 11 a.m. Dr. William Kapp will speak about a minimally invasive total knee replacement at noon and the final session is at 2 p.m. on managing arthritis with medication.

Golfers who want to get pointers about how to maintain their game after joint replacement surgery are invited to watch a video by PGA golf pro George Archer. The video will be shown hourly beginning at 8 a.m., with the last showing at 4 p.m.
