CAPE GIRL TO COMPETE AS STATE PAGEANT FINALIST

Lara McLaughlin, 5, of Cape Girardeau has been accepted as a state finalist in the Miss American Coed/Princess pageant to be held in Kansas City on Sept. 3-4.

The pageant program is open to girls ages 4-19. The Princess pageant is for girls ages 4-7. Emphasis is placed on physical fitness, mental alertness, self-confidence, achievement in school and service to the community and church.

She is the daughter of Rick and Marilyn McLaughlin of Cape Girardeau.
